What The Ear Listens

The other day I was walking in Paddy's Market in Haymarket with this friend when suddenly his phone rang. Then he listen to it lah (of course rite?) At the same time we were also looking at some clothes from this stall run by some Cantonese speaking people. The wife started to complain to the husband about the two of us. Say that we should not look at her clothes and answer the phone at the same time. She continues to say that we sure will not buy but only come to mess up her shop. A bit I am ok you know but she went on and on calling us this and that for 3 mins. I did not say a thing but just kept staring at the husband who over the 3 mins did not say a thing to his wife but gave me a look that might have express his doubts that I did not understand what his wife was talking about. Back to my friend who did not know much cantonese, he has finished his conversation on his mobile phone and have already seleted at the same time 2 t-shirt that he would like to purchase. I told him lets go to another shop but in english of course. What is this? The shop did NOT display any signs that you cannot choose the clothes displayed when you are on the mobile phone. What is the matter with these people? Ain't I the customer? My friend was not affected by this at all....why? Firstly he did not understand cantonese much and secondly he did not hear it himself.

I must say this is not the first time such a thing has happen. In 04 during the O-week a similar this happen at the stall. This lady was talking bad about me loudly, in front of me in cantonese all the time think that I could not understand a bit. Should I start hanging a sign on my neck that states that I understand cantonese?

Also I am begining to doubt people. The other day this gentleman and lady pulled me off the street wanting me to donate to their organsation. I told them that I was busy. but the lady said that it was her first day. And that she wanted to pratice her pitch and he then mentioned that I do not need to donate I could just help to "rate" her pitch. I was like ok (cause anyway i have nothing to do) So it began (her pitch) boy....she really did not know her stuff. First she forgot some numbers. Second her organization helps out in parts of asia so do not say all of asia. Thirdly when she asked me where I came from I said that I am from the "Sunny Island" she say yah... and went on to mention that the organisation is also the to help in children. I was please I have stayed there for 24 years and I never heard of you all before who are u trying to con? A three year old kid? Anyway as the pitch went on they push me on and on to donate. Till i could not take it anymore I burst out. I told to guy that he mention that I was to rate her not to donate. I also told that that I know that they are bluffing me when that said that they knew where "Sunny Island" is at and that the organsation is in that country to help. They kept trying to defend said that it is in Asia...Pleas I also know that. But they could not say which part of Asia. I was so not please. Yes I have to agree that "Sunny Island" is so small that on many many maps it is not even drawn. But please do not act as if you know. If you do not know I will not have any bad feeling. To make things worst the guy made many jokes about me. Firstly said that I look like 18 please please I am now 24 ok I may not be look that old but not that young also. Secondly he asked me if I have ever sold my body for money before. Is that a joke? is that a question that you want to ask people? Thirdly he went like the last time you went to the toliet and checked are u a male or female? What a question to ask!!! Fourthly I mentioned that I have donated to the Kidney Foundation before back home and he said issit because I have some kidney problems? What! Luckly I did not mention that I also help the Cancer and AIDs Foundations before back home else he will curse me with even more illness. Anyway overall bad bad bad. The lady is not too good for lying the guy is worst for not only lying but also trying to work his way out of them when found out and also making jokes that are not al all funny. Please get your facts right and work on your attitude.

There are highs and lows in life. As I was at Cotton On on the same day as above. I met a friend that I did not see for 2 months. We chatted for a whole 1 1/2 hr STANDING in front of Cotton On. Felt so HUMAN. On another note. 3 ppl told me that hometown is a nice place. So please. On an even happier note. someone friend's friend's sister said that friend friend was not bad looking....
