06 Here we come...

Tomorrow will be the last day of 2005. So how do you plan to cross to the next year? For me I will be looking at the fireworks. How was 05 for you? Did not seem too well for the world as a whole. The very first few months there was the Asian Tsunami, Pope John Paul II passed on, the bombing of the London tube stations, the hurricanes that hit the cities all over the world worst being New Orleans, the earthquake that hit India & Pakistan. Fire that broke out in England and also the Bali bombing.

To me 05 was not too good a year also. So much happened in my personal life. It was like a downhill roll of a snowball. As it rolled it got bigger and bigger. Anyway lets hope that 06 will be a better year. I will be at Sydney the first city to ring in the new year.

Post X-mas

There are post X-mas sales everywhere in the city. Some like Cotton On have 50% off. Then there was the crowd. Really is "people mountain people sea". Most of the people here are off till 2nd Jan. A long 10 days break which started on the 24th.

I have been watching HK dramas these days. I feel that the songs they choose to play during the show are always so nice. No matter if it is a english, chinese, cantonese or any other languages, it is always so pleaseant to the ears, so smoothing to the soul. People often say in Chinese "The shows often depic life, Life often depics shows." I often do not feel this way as we can often see in the shows that after no matter what happens the family members and friends always forgive one another. The evil one always get punished. When you are in trouble always for friends will crowd around you to help you solve it. Every bad deed a person does sure to have a good reason behind it. Do you really think life is like that? Things are always not what they seem. Life is never beautiful. There are pitholes, valleys, thunderstorms so even a haze of an unhealthy level. Therefore shows never depic life and that life will never depic shows.

One Sleep from Christmas

Yes it is only 1 sleep away. It is finally here. Only once in a year. (Mmm... every other day also comes only once in a year. Some even once in four years 29 Feb that is.) To all I wish a Merry Christmas. Will be planning to go to the Aquashell for the fireworks. NSW have a totally fire ban but fireworks seems ok. Did u know that Christmas was actually on the 6th Dec a few hundred years ago? Yup got that of SBS, seem to start to like that station a lot. Among all the festive hoildays I seem to like X-mas the most. Not sure why actually... maybe because it is near the end of the year.

What did I do for the past few days? People Watching of course and Drama. Finished "Drunken Fists". Also went to "jalan jalan" city. And yes!!! Myers again and of course I cannot forget FCUK. I can only say that the word "SALE" seems to be pasted up on every shop. Slashs up to 10%, 20% 30% some even 50% or even buy 1 free 1. The festive moods sets in.

Well the cat grew a bit bigger in two ways. Firstly swam 3 times in the past week and went to the gym twice add that all on to all the walking in the city. Secondly .... erm ask me and I may tell you. BTW to all those returning to the city of surf, sun, sand and sea, I have read in Mx that the travelten will again increase in price on the 3 Jan by A$1 up to A$2. Stock up on it as it does not have an expire date said the transport minister. So I went to buy a few for you! (esp only for you.) Blue by A$0.90, Brown by A$1.10, Red by A$1.70 but no changes for Green and Purple. So do stock up on them...

During these few day I realised something. It seems that ads are everywhere in our lives. There do not seem to have a place that does not have them. They are on bus, busstops, taxis, tvs, movies, by the roads, airports, train, train stops, toilets, radio, newpaper, sales receipts. They are everywhere. We cannot run away from them...

Last but not lest...wish all a merry christmas and have a happy new year.

Asterix and Obelix

The other day watched Astérix et Obélix contre César(1999) on SBS directed by Claude Zidi based on the comic books created by René Goscinny(1926-1977) and Albert Uderzo(1927- ) in 1959 till present day.. It was not too bad at a filming cost of $48 million US it better had a bit of "punch". Lasting for about 109 mins. They also did a ok job in recreating everything as close as to the comic as possible. The cast looked like those in the book, they dress the same even the props very similar to those drawn in the books. Only problem was that it was in French and I do not understand a word of it. Spend the time reading the subtitles but overall lacking a bit had some fun watching it. Not forgeting to mention that the plot is a cut and paste of several plots into one.

There seem to have a follow up movie Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre(2002) with a even bigger filming cost of $47 million US. Reviews have stated that it was better then the previous ones. Both movies are done up in French then later dubbed in German. Funny thing is that the second movie is also dubbed in Arabic, Cantonese and Latin. Why Cantonese? A check with the distribution does not states Hong Kong, China, Malaysia. Mmm....wonder who did they dubbed movie in Cantonese for?

Anyway went to Borders and read Asterix and the Falling Sky(2005) the latest in the series. Seems to be lacking something can't say what it is but just not like the same as the previous titles. Well the translaters have to be busy again as it needs to be translated into more than 100++ languages. This comic is so successful in France that in 1989 Parc Asterix opened it doors. It is located between Sortie 7 and Sortie 8 on Motorway A1 towards Lille about 30 kms away from the city of Paris with 31 attractions and 6 shows. The damage needed to enter is 33 euros (Big Gaul) and 23 euros (Little Gaul) for a one day pass or 62 euros and 42 euros for a 2 day pass. Well when I have the $$ really do hope to visit it. That adds one more theme park to visit in France is I ever do go there, the other being Disneyland.

The book Asterix and the Falling Sky(2005) being the no 33 in the series with it's many puns and relations, reflections to the USA had been rumored to be the last...

The Lift

I need to take the lift at least twice everyday. Once down to collect letters and back up again. Sometimes more when I go swimming or when I go out. Taking the lift is the best time of the day I must say. And also to add the lift that I take does not have any "lady" saying "Level 2. Going down." Those lifts really gets on my nerves. Sometimes feel like smashing them cause the "lady" keeping saying "Going Up." Imagine if you are going to the 20th level and the lift stops at every level. Argh!!! Anyway back to my point. Why is that the best time of the day? Cause I am staying on the 20th story now. Therfore whenever I take the lift, I will just stand at the back and listen to other people's conversation. Also get to see many pretty ladies. Just the other day saw 3 kawaii jap ladies all dress for clubbing. Their dresses all black and also well a bit erm.... low and a bit short. Can almost see erm... well u know. Also saw this other gal also not too bad looking, a HK., wearing a nice sun dress. Actually there are far too many in the city. Anyway then it is only in the lift that I get to hear some people speaking as I am home alone.

So bored that I went to Myer again (Yah yah...AGAIN). Also saw a shirt in Fox Men quite nice. And also one in Cotton On. But did not buy. Also went to the main shopping streets to take a look at the buskers. Saw a not bad looking Jap guy doing ballons shapes. I also went to Custom House to read the Strait Times. At first wanted to read the report that cause the storm in "Sunny Island" but could not find it in the folder. (Maybe because it was published on a Sunday?) Then went on to read all about the Star Awards. I then moved on to the Opera House. I could see that the Harbour Bridge is all up an ready for the NYE countdown. A heart is already hanging on the arches. Took an events book from the Opera House, thinking of should I go catch one before I return? But they are expensive and they are sung in italian.

Oh what should I do?

Happy Anniversary

Another year of my life has passed but this year it got a bit better because I got to know you. It was today last year that I first got to personally know you. Before that I could only admire others who know. I could only stand by the side to watch. But now it has been a year, my life has been a little fuller because of your entry into it. Thinking of you always esp. during the hard, easy, happy and sad times of my life. Forever keeping you somewhere deep in my heart......

And again I wish us a Happy Anniversary!

One Big Shopping Spree

Read from the Mx papers that Westfield Bondi Junction and Parramatta will be open for 32 hours and 30 minutes till Christmas eve. That will be from 23th Dec 9am till 24th Dec 5.30pm to cater to all the last minute X-mas shopping. The stores that will be open include Myers, Target, Coles, Woolworths and other speciality shops.

As first when I read it I though will anyone really go to shop at these ungodly hours? I read on to realise that I was totally wrong. This is an event in its 4th year and more than 230, 000 people came to this event last year. Mmm... wonder how come I did not hear of it last year? Maybe because I was back home. Did u know about it? Erm... went to walk walk World Square again. Saw a few very "pretty" things. Like the grey one and one green one. Opps...I think my illness of people watching got worst after I moved to the city.

King Kong

I have just watched KING KONG(1933) in black and white on ABC which ran for 1 hour and 44 mins. As 14th will be the world screening of the Peter Jackson's remake of the movie which will run for 3 hours and 1 min. Wonder what parts he added. I want to watch it. It has great reviews from many places. IMDB gave it 8/10. While ABC gave it 4/5 . So I must watch. As I was watching the show I was shocked to heard that "Sunny Island" was mention as the place where Carl Denham got the map to Skull Island. In 1933 and it was mentioned? Did I hear correctly? Need to watch again to confirm. Will it be in the remake?

But I must say that Peter has a huge load on his back after the smash hits of the trilogy Lord of the Rings. After that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe then Memoirs of a Geisha. Read both books but forgot all about Narnia cus too long ago. But can still clearly remember Geisha. Boy... was it a good book. I could not put it down till the very last page.

Well for dinner I went to "Tim Tim" with some others. Then stared to chat about the bargins that I saw at Birkenhead Point which I went the other day. And on that same day I went to Myers, Fcuk, Polo. JJ, Just Jeans, CR just to name a few. I DID NOT buy anything. I need state here that I am not "any o how" sudden started a shopping spree. Thanks... Only you understand me...

Nearly Killed...

As usually was walking along the streets in the city and admiring the views at the same time. Suddenly something saw my eyes. It was a beautiful black cascading "waterfall". I started to follow it blindly. Till something horned... I turn only to see the flash of a pair of headlights. Life flashed acrossed my eyes. (Of course your face came out FIRST). Then there was the sound of screeching brakes. Luckily the car stopped in time. Then got a scolding. As a friend, the wonderful grey husky warned me before. I am sure to get killed one day if I always cross without looking but just based on listerning. Today his words nearly came true...

Wave Pool

As I did not want to get any darker anymore I have stayed at home the whole day. Only went out for a swim at the underground pool. As usual the "waves" are there. But it was much better this time did not feel dizzy. Maybe I just got used to it.

Before the swim I also went to the gym. I should say I seldom go to gyms cause I feel that I am too small sized. The weights will be lifting me instead of me lifting them. Only during the army days did I go constantly for a period of 3 months plus plus. I did a few chest expanders.(I do not want sagging men's breast now do we?) Later this other guy came into the gym. He went straight away to "rip" off his shirt to show his tight ripping muscles. Then he went on to use the gym at the same time making a lot of noise. People who frequent the gym will know what I mean. He made those "har...woo..arrr..." sounds as he lift the weights. I could not even hear the tv. Ya ya... I know you have a nice shaped body but I do not but must you create so much noise to make me look at you? Therefore lesson learned? If you are small sized like me do not (I repeat...DO NOT) use the gym when these muscle bounded people are using it.

Today marks the end of the London Buses. The London's red Routemaster buses which is featured is countless movies, pictures, drama, books, towels, pins, plates, stamps, coins and many more. Including the bus bombing a few months ago. They will be put into retirement as they are not suitable for the disabled and needed to be replaced by a more user-friendly model of buses. All this after more then 50 years of service. To mark this day, a tv program was created by BBC, a song created by Tom Smail. And also a website by Ralf Obergfell.
On the final route of 159 there was not only the normal Routemaster but also the privately owned ones also a silver and a gold painted ones. Although I do not stay in London but too I feel a lost. Cause it is like an icon of London. In 1998 when I was backpacking there I loved the ride on the Routemaster buses. It is like in a movie, like really in London just like in the books and on the screen. Sad to say after today there will be only 16 left that will service only on two "heritage routes" that is targeted at tourists.

p/s: Trying to get fitter esp. only for you...

The Great Melt Down...

The weather is killing me...As if I am not dark enough...the sun kept shining and shining...Listen to the govt slip on a t-shirt, slop on sunblock and slap on a cap. (Erm...nearly miss out something...That is putting on sunnies. In that way can "miao" fishes without them knowing, rite?) When I walk under the sun I can feel the "burning" feeling. Feel as if I am melting. At 20th story I can still feel the heat.

So what have I been doing under the intense heat? Well I think the best things to do in life of course, which are......Sleep, Eat, Watch Drama and (Window) Shopping (plus people watching also). This is how life should be! Till I get back to Sunny Island to start working that is.

As funds are running low I can only outside seeing an not inside buying. Went to "jalan" city again and went into FCUK shop again. Did not buy anything but I think this one staff knows me cause he gave me a little wink and smile...why? Cause I have been into the shop once everyday from Sat till now!!! Also went to the puma, hush puppies, events, just jeans, levis, seafolly, teva, simple and many more other brands warehouse sales. But sad to say did not buy anything cause

1) There is not much money left.
2) No size.
3) Too expensive.
4) Not anything that have caught my fancy.

Also to add, I went swimming and got "seasick" from it. The pool have some kind of "wave" making thing. That causes the water to move up and down, up and down. Drove me to the max and nearly fainted. Wonder what are you doing back home?
