6541

Today was a day of much interest.

After my jog, as I went into the gents I saw this guy, not too bad looking, doing up his hair with the orange Gatsby hair wax. Nothing much rite... I went along mine usually routine. After 15 plus mins I was about to leave the place he was still standing there by the sink facing the big mirror still styling his hair with the hair wax. He also applied OXY pimple cover and had this mid sized handheld oval mirror to reflect his reflection onto the big mirror. Supposing so that he will be able to see all round his head making sure each and every strand of hair is in perfect position. Real metrosexual, with the light brown burms, red tight fit top, green havaianas and lightly tanned skin. He look not a day past 18. Oh BTW I did I fail to mention that the tight top is from NUM with the words "Everyone like a Asian guy. 6541 ". Well you know what I mean. Seems they are now everywhere.

Not to get the wrong idea I do look at both side of the coin. Which leads to the next part.

I was waiting for the train back when I saw this couple walking by the platform. They stopped just beside me, therefore I could hear them chatting about some history stuff. It seem that they have just studied as some place and was heading home. I could see that they are attached cause the guy placed his hands on her shoulder and hers was just lightly touching his waist. Anyway the train came. And they said the goodbyes and a little peck on the forehead. Then she boarded the train so did I. Then the doors closed and rolled out of the station. She then whipped out her handphone can called someone.

Then she said in a very sweet voice: "Hello. Ya left him already. What are u doing. Ya just finished the study. He told me everything about the history. I no need to read the whole thick book. He say Kung Fu Panda very funny. We should watch it soon. What did u eat. We ate pepper lunch express. Not very nice. That time we go the Pepper Lunch better. Your book read finished already. So fast. Knew it. Ya the paper on Mon. Sun cannot go out. Sat still can go with you." and much more mushy, "roma" stuff in a very very "teh" voice that I could no longer remember. I was like erm... didn't she just left her bf? This went on for like 3 stations. At first when she whip out her hp to call, I was still thinking so "loving" just part must call already. How wrong can I be ?!?!

Then came the announcement that went something like this "This train will be moving to the middle track soon. For your own safety please hold onto hand grips or grab poles." Then the train sway a little left and right. Everyone on the train also went a little swaying. Then her went like " The train shaking left and right. I have moving like that too." In a super high pitched voice. Super grossed out. Well I do not know who is on the other side of the line. Only she knows.

Oh on the movie that the guy mentioned Kung Fu Panda. It is really not too bad quite funny. With all the pun of chinese kung fu. The Tiger Crane Double Style, Mantis Style etc we so often see in chinese kung fu shows. A little short but still ok as a weekday movie. All the pigs, ducks and rabbits are extras in the movie. Also watch out for the spoof of Yoda of Star Wars fame. OH ya to those who have yet to watch. Remember to stay for the end of the credits...

Input = Output ?

The effort put in at times may not be that what you get out of it. Well not always that case that is. I must say at times you may get more. But by far thats is always not the case.

Anyway on a lighter note FF3 is here! Yah. No no not the game. The web browser. FireFox 3. In other IT news. Yahoo has dump Microsoft for good. Last week talks fell out again. Stating reasons that Microsoft is only interested in its search. After that Yahoo went into a deal with, no prizes for the correct guess, Google. Wii out sells PS3 and 360 again. In may they sold 675,000 , 209,000 and 187,000 respectively in the US according to market research firm NPD.

Succumb to the Pressure.

As pressure and heat mounts up. Movement is needed. Resistance is futile. Bow down to Fate.

Random Musing:
My Fave Show on free to air tv? Primetime Morning on CNA every week day morning. (But only when Suzanne and Steven are on. Ok ok more like when Suzanne is on air)

Suzanne Jung, one of the co-anchors for Primetime Morning has a channelnewsasia blog. Why Cheryl Fox don't have? You can also read others like Steven Chia (the other half of Primetime Morning), Timothy Go and others here.

The Big Flip... Flop?

The nightspot St James Power House was gone a U-turn to their policy of free entry for foreign tertiary students after a Singaporean student wrote a feedback to MyPaper and received comments that the controversial policy is unfair. The power of the media. Starting from tonight all tertiary students can enter the the club for free before 11pm. Mmm.... That's settled. From Life! today. Mr Foo was quoted "Where we have erred, then the thing to do is to change. We will grant free entry to all tertiary students." What took them 2 years to realise it, as the policy was in place from the first day of opening in 06.

He was further quoted as saying "Powerhouse, being a dance club, targets the younger set, some of which are tertiary students. But there are so many tertiary institutions here, we can't offer it to all, so we chose foreign students to start with. It was also to give the place a more cosmopolitan feel." So erm two years ago they could not "afford" to give it to all students but now they suddenly can "afford" to offer it to all tertiary students?

"The policy was in place since Day One and we had no complaints till now." So if someone had complained about it on lets say Day Two they would have extend it too all tertiary students rite away like they have done now? Or if the student have not wrote in to MyPaper, the local tertiary students will still have to continue to pay till god know when. So to those tertiary students who have paid obediently for the last two years, are they saying that you are to blame cause you did not compliant. Caused if you did you will not have to pay anymore.

"If you say I discriminate against locals, that is not true because more then 80% of my patrons are local. I would be mad to discriminate against them." So what was going through the people when they set the policy? Didn't they think about the effect on the local tertiary students? The feelings they might have when they realised about the policy?

Not to forget about the Ladies Night the other time...

Fast Cars, Fast Food, Fast Life

When you speed you may crash and have a very fast life. But when you have fast food... will it also lead to a fast life? During the weekend watched Supersized Me on Arts Central. This is the first time I am watching the documentary movie. The results seems so dangerous. He is said to have liver damage. Yup yup high sugar, high fat, high salt expected results. But the liver part... a little unexpected. But my take on the movie is that true that fast food is not good for health but taking it 3 times a day is a little extreme. And I agreed with him that to them it is a business, they want to have profits, gains and make some money on the way.

Luring children into the restaurant part with playgrounds and toys give aways? I a bit disagree. It is the over all package. Nowadays everyones wants a single place that sells everything. where you can get and do everything. When you grab a soda why not pay your bills at the same time? The toys that they sell with happy meals? Why did anyone say anything about that toy companies that do the tie-in with they. The toy companies also know that the fast food is not too good for health. Should they go to some salad, milk or fruit company to have a tie-in?

I am not saying that the fast food chains are not serving not so healthy food. The main thing is self- control. We as consumers should make a choice. Excise, eat less like may be 2 or 3 times a month? Get the healthy stuff, salads etc. Don't up size unnecessarily. Oh btw I went to a fast food chain to get a burger and they really did ask if I wanted to upsize. Add a side? Add a patty? Up the drink? etc. CONTROL. Is the word. But on the other hand maybe the chains should also make it less tempting? Less convenient? Oh just to add the movie was filmed in 2003. Quite sometime ago.

Closer to current time is the flip flop and flip again petrol rules. Don't quite know what is the state now. Luckily do not pump there. But the prices of petrol really have sky- rocketed.

Broke mine own vow of not donating to any of those bin at MRTs, Bus terminal, linkways etc. I told myself not to donate after the 04 saga of NKF then Youth Challenge then Re Ci. The first two have ended, not quite sure about the last one. Who issit to you may ask? To the Sichun quake victims. Not much but I hope it will help. Miss SS said something not too nice. Erm... well was it take out of context? I am not too sure. But at such a event, comment on a natural disaster, with so much media, and of such a level of stardom. Caution is much needed.

Two "fiends" at work. Tempting me to such an extent. Argh... The temptation is so strong. Fight Fight I much.
